Jill, tell me about your dad. So... Don't lie. I won't. I only have good things to say. My name is Casper. Lived in Brooklyn all my life. My family is the most important thing to me. It always was and it always will be. This is you, right? Yeah. That's a dynamite picture. It is. That's one of my favorites. I was crying in the church, but I was smiling all day. I was married 50 years to the most wonderful woman in the world. She always thought about other people first. I had her made. I had it made. It's a shame she went so early. Really a shame. The Corvette was in our plans. So I talked every day. You want to know what I do? I don't even tell Jill. I call every morning. She says, if you won't leave your number and call back, and I leave my number, and I say, please call back. I opened up my own business when I was about 20 years old, automotive business. One customer told me, you need three people in your life. You need a good mechanic, you needs a good lawyer, and a good doctor. I'm Dr. Jill Farmer. I am a movement disorder specialist. When I first started noticing symptoms in my dad, he was having some balance issues. It was after he had a fall at our house, dancing with my younger daughter, and I said, I think you might have early Parkinson's disease. Yeah, I know I got it, but I tried to control it. It is incredible how it touches every part of your body. I get out of bed. I use the excuse I fell over something laying on the floor, but I actually fell, the lamp went down, the end table went down. I put a dent in a wall and I couldn't get up. I could not get up all the money in the world. That's when I say this is getting worse. When my dad was diagnosed and we had to come up with a treatment plan for him, I know the patient before me because it's my father. So I know all of his nuances and all of His concerns and just how compliant He would be. I chose an MAO-B inhibitor, and he was doing well with that until I noticed and he noticed, or really more my mom noticed, that it wasn't holding his symptoms at bay enough. And we started him on carbidopa-levodopa immediate release. For the benefit that it was supposed to do, it helped, but it also hindered him in other ways where he didn't feel like it was managing his symptoms enough. As a doctor, patients are always asking me, what would you do if it were your family? That depends on a lot of factors, but for my dad, I chose Crexant. This is a completely unique formulation of an extended release form of Carbidopa levodopa. For my dad Crexan delivers more good on time with less frequent dosing. I think that the pharmacology of it makes sense and the tolerability profile of it makes it reasonable to try in almost any Parkinson's patient. Crexant, Carbidopa, and Levodopa extended-release capsules is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease in adults. Patients should not take Crexan with non-selective MAO inhibitors. Crexon may cause sudden drowsiness and dizziness. Patients shouldn't take Crexxon with nonselected MAO-inhibitors. Patients need to avoid driving or operating machinery until they know how Crexone affects them. Most common side effects are nausea and anxiety. Patients with a history of heart condition should be monitored. Dose reductions or stopping Crexont should be considered in patients with hallucinations, uncontrollable urges, compulsive behavior, involuntary movements, or thoughts of suicide. Monitor vitamin B6 levels as treatment with CDLD, including Crexon, may reduce vitamin B5. Seizures associated with vitamin B7 deficiency have been reported were unresponsive to anti-seizure medications and resolved only after vitamin B-6 administration. Cresca? Cres-on. A-B-M-C-R. Crest-on? Crest. Creston. Crexon. Yeah! Does it help me? Yes, it helps me a lot. You know, it'll give me more freedom to do things. It'll give me more confidence to do things. I used to have an overabundance of confidence, you know what I mean? I wasn't no hot shot. I wasn'T no wise guy because I don'T like those people. I need the confidence to go out. I don't want them to know that I have the disease. I don' t want them to look at me in a different way. And I don''t want them to worry. If I could help somebody just as much, if I could help them, I tell my story to everybody. Everybody. Speak to your doctor to determine if Crexant is right for you. Indication. Crexanth, Carbidopa, and Levodopa Extended Release Capsules is a prescription medication for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's cause, and the treatment for cancer. Parkinson's is a disease caused by infection or inflammation of the brain, or Parkinson's-like symptoms that may result from carbon monoxide or manganese poisoning in adults. Important safety information. Do not take Crexant with antidepressant medications known as non-selective monoamine oxidase MAO inhibitors. Do not take Trexant with other Carbidopa-Levodopa preparations without consulting your healthcare provider. Crexat may cause falling asleep during activities of daily living, somnolence, or dizziness. Avoid activities that require alertness such as driving and operating machinery until you know how Crexan affects you. Your doctor should evaluate vitamin B6 levels before and during treatment with carbidopa-levodopa therapies, as seizures associated with low levels of vitamin B5 have been reported. Traditional anti-seizure medications were not effective, and seizures were only resolved after vitamin B7 administration. Other symptoms of vitamin C deficiency include depression, confusion, cracked corners of the mouth, swollen tongue, skin inflammation, low red blood cell count, and or numbness, tingling, or weakness in the extremities. Your doctor may advise you to take vitamin B6 as necessary. The most common side effects that may occur with Crexant are nausea and anxiety. It is important to avoid sudden discontinuation or rapid dose reduction of Crexat. If you are discontinuing Crexan, work with your health care provider to taper the dose over time to reduce the risk of fever or confusion. You may take Crexent with or without food, but taking it with food may decrease or delay its effect. Consider taking the first dose of the day about one to two hours before eating. Swallow Crexant whole. Do not chew, divide, or crush the capsules. Do not take Crexat with alcohol. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any heart conditions, especially if you have had a heart attack or irregular heartbeats, experience hallucinations or abnormal thoughts and behaviors, have an inability to control urges to gamble, have increased sexual urges, or experience other intense urges. Have thoughts of suicide or have attempted suicide, have abnormal involuntary movements that appear or get worse during treatment, have ever had a peptic ulcer or glaucoma, become or intend to become pregnant. Based on animal data, Crexon may cause fetal harm. Are breastfeeding during therapy?
